The Forum Rules and Regulations
General forum rules
▪ No explicit messages/posts/photos. Keep it PG13.
▪ No cussing/swearing what so ever; this includes using symbols or other mediums to cover or hide the actual word. All abbreviations (wtf, lmao, wth) are accepted, provided they are not used to hurt or insult another forum member. The words bastard and *hore (formatted this way) are only allowed in the BBMB's rp section.
▪ No religious/political content.
▪ Follow the golden rule. If you do not have anything nice to say, simply don't say it.
▪ Mini-moderating is not allowed. Please direct all issues or troubles to a forum staff member.
▪ Be respectful at all times, even if someone disagrees with you. If someone disagrees with you, try handle it maturely.
▪ Advertising of any forms (subliminal/direct) is not allowed, except within the advertising board.
-- Subliminal advertising includes but is not limited to: Intentionally directing users to a specific advert/forum in the advertising section/profile, chatter specifically about a roleplay website/forum.
-- Direct advertising includes but is not limited to: Posting the link or advert anywhere that is not the advertising section.
▪ Please do not double post. Double posting refers to posting multiple replies/posts that follow after one another.
Roleplaying Rules
▪ You can only roleplay as a cat in the main boards. No other creatures will be accepted at this point in time. The exception to this is if yyou are roleplaying in the "other" rp section.
▪ OOC and IC are separate and should not be blurred. If a problem arises and you are unsure how to have your character react or, feel it is within breach of the forum rules and regulations, notify staff immediately.
▪ There is a minimum of 30 words per post when roleplaying (clan sections, rogue grounds, kittypet areas). If roleplaying in the shoutbox or in the OOC section, the word requirement is not needed. You can view your word limit in the right hand corner of your post.
▪ Realistic roleplay *must* be used at all times in the roleplay sections. (clan territories, gatherings, etc). This does not include the shoutbox, private messaging or in the out of character section. What is unrealistic?: Unnatural pelt/eye colors such as green fur or purple eyes, unrealistic actions including, having a crush after 2 comments, god-modding, auto-hitting, unrealistic terms such as glitter or hammer.
▪ For realism purposes, we also do not accept kit characters under 5 moons old.
▪ Realistic appearances must be used on GBMP (we do allow blue eyes for cats, without them needing the white spotting but we do not allow blue eyes for wolves due to their rarity). No purebred characters are allowed (Siamese, Maine Coons, Abyssinians, Bengal, Birman, Perisan, Russian blue, Savannah, Scottish fold, Turkish Van, Turkish Angora, Manx, Snowshow, etc) and no colors that are so rare that realistically would not be found in wild cats, including, seal points, lynx points). Purebred cats (whether cross-bred, naturally bred, or are a mutation breed) must be purchased using forum currency at the prey store. Standard cat characters are only allowed to be made. All purebred, or "rare" colourations are to be purchased.
▪ One prefix per clan; no duplicate prefixes in one clan. Duplicate prefixes can be used but they must be in separate clans and the suffixes MUST be different. This rule has been created to prevent confusion and create a sense of clarity with naming. (Remember: Prefixes are the first word that make up a cat's name. Suffixes are the second part). If you're unsure whether a name has been used, please check the allegiances and the name-claims list. Found, here (1) and, here (2)
▪ Before two characters can have kits/pups, there must be a minimum of 20 posts between them. There are also other rules and guidelines in place in regards to mating, kits and adopting.
▪ Queen characters cannot be made.
▪ Injured characters with disabilities, powers, random knowledge of herbs when they're a warrior, funny abilities are not accepted unless purchased from the prey store.
▪ Graphic roleplay mating is not accepted. It is not important, nor is it appropriate.
▪ Please only roleplay a maximum of two high ranked characters per IP. High ranked characters are; Leader, Deputy, and Alpha/Alphess. If you roleplay a deputy and a leader, it is fine. But, controlling/managing two entire clans/packs at once (simultaneously) is against the rules.
--- It is advised that if you roleplay a position that there is few of (leader, deputy, medicine cat), try and alternate the role among other users by killing/retiring characters.
--- HP's do have some small responsibilities and/or clan authority. But, they are not staff.
This entire rule is exempt to the 'other roleplay' section as the roleplays there are small.
Once you have read these rules carefully, you may sign up and create your character. You cannot however, post anywhere on the forum until you have been approved and accepted by a member of staff. How will you know once you've been approved and accepted? Simple. They will say 'Accepted' or 'Approved' - If you do not meet the requirements, they will help you so that you can begin roleplaying on the forum.
To ensure this has been read carefully when signing up to create a character, post "Jason's Purple Hair" at the bottom of your character application. If that secret code is not posted at the end of your message, you will be told to read the rules. Please note: This code only needs to be posted for your first character application.
The Banning Procedure
I. You will not automatically receive a warning if you break a rule. Your first offense merely results in a private message. This private message will contain what rule was broken and that you may wish to read over the rules to help prevent future incidents.
II. Your second offence will result in 1 warning. It is now your responsibility to read over the rules.
III. Your third offence will result in a second warning, and depending on the rule broken; private messaging may be disabled for a 7 day period.
IV. Forth and fifth offence results in a third and fourth warning, along with private messaging disabled for a 14 day period. Users may also receive a temporary ban on their accounts also, again, depending on the rule broken.
V. Sixth offence: Removal of all accounts and IP ban.
Please note: This procedure is likely to change depending on severity of rules broken. Also.. If private messaging is disabled, you can still private message members of staff, only. This banning procedure is also subject to change depending on severity of rules broken. This procedure implies a mild means of rule breaking.
